Use of corundum castables

      The use temperature of corundum castables is generally above 1700 degrees. The use places are mainly used as lining materials for various kiln such as boiler, blast furnace hot blast stove, heating furnace and ceramic kiln.

      Corundum castables have higher mechanical strength and abrasion resistance than high alumina refractory castables and mullite refractory castables, but are slightly less resistant to thermal shock.

      Corundum castables are refractory castables prepared from corundum as aggregate and powder plus some binders. According to the use part and temperature, different corundum castables are used, such as chrome corundum castable, zirconium corundum castable, brown corundum castable, composite corundum castable.

      Comparative analysis of corundum castables and corundum mullite castables

      Corundum castables have higher strength and better wear resistance than corundum mullite castables; however, there is no thermal stability of corundum mullite castables.
