Mixing of refractory castables

Words:[Big][Medium][Small] Mobile Page Two-Dimensional Code 2018-10-15

The refractory casting materials are supplied as dry materials, and mixed with water or other stirring liquid before installation and use. Construction is started after the mixing process. General provisions

(1) The entire bag of refractory material should be used, and materials that are already open, damaged, and wet should not be used.

(2) Materials produced by two different manufacturers cannot be mixed, and two different materials cannot be mixed.

(3) No additives such as cement or limestone (except steel fiber) may be added to the material unless approved by the manufacturer.

(4) Refractory materials with agglomerates or water seepage in the bag cannot be used. During the transportation and storage of the refractory material, it may be pressed into a block, which can be gently opened by hand without affecting the performance of the refractory material.

(5) The mixing, transport and installation of materials shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended mixing temperature range for the particular material. The proper mixing temperature guarantees the physical properties of the castable.

(6) The installer shall establish the necessary temperature control measures for the proper mixing temperature.

(7) If not specified by the material manufacturer, the total mixing time from the addition of water shall not be less than 3 minutes and shall not exceed 5 minutes. For low, ultra low and non-bindered refractories, mixing time is a major factor in determining the final physical properties of the material.

(8) The amount of refractory material to be mixed per time shall be arranged according to the workload, and the amount of each refractory shall not be too large to ensure that the mixed materials are installed before molding.

(9) After the refractory material is discharged from the mixer, it should be transported to the installation site immediately. The time intervals for mixing, adding water, conveying and refractory materials should be in accordance with the material manufacturer's specifications.

(10) Measures should be taken to prevent material separation during the transportation of the mixture.
