Mixing and stirring method of refractory castable

Words:[Big][Medium][Small] Mobile Page Two-Dimensional Code 2018-10-15

The refractory casting materials are supplied as dry materials, and mixed with water or other stirring liquid before installation and use. Construction is started after the mixing process. General provisions

(1) The entire bag of refractory material should be used, and the open, damaged and wetted parts should not be used.

s material.

(2) Materials produced by two different manufacturers cannot be mixed, and two different materials cannot

mixing.

(3) No additives such as cement or limestone (except steel fiber) can be added to the material.

Not approved by the manufacturer.

(4) Refractory materials with agglomerates or water seepage in the bag cannot be used. Transportation of refractory materials

During storage and storage, it may be pressed into pieces, which can be gently opened by hand without affecting the performance of the refractory.

(5) The mixing, transport and installation of materials shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations for specific materials.

Mixing temperature range. The proper mixing temperature guarantees the physical properties of the castable.

(6) The installer shall establish the necessary temperature control measures for the proper mixing temperature.

(7) If not specified by the material manufacturer, the total mixing time from the addition of water must not be less than 3

Minutes and can't exceed 5 minutes. For low, ultra low and non-bindered refractories, mixing time is a major factor in determining the final physical properties of the material.

(8) The amount of refractory material mixed each time is arranged according to the workload, and it is not suitable for each dosage.

Too large to ensure that the mixed material is installed before molding.

(9) After the refractory material is discharged from the mixer, it should be transported to the installation site immediately. Mix, add water,

Construction time intervals for transport and refractory materials should be in accordance with the material manufacturer's specifications.

(10) Measures should be taken to prevent material separation during the transportation of the mixture.

Steel fiber addition

The refractory material is added to the steel fiber as required. The steel fiber should be added to the mixing equipment together with the dry refractory material or later, and should be added before the addition of the mixed water. When adding, ensure that the steel fibers are added to the mixture in a freely dispersed state. After adding steel fibers, the mixing equipment should be run for 1-2 minutes before adding water. The steel fiber is generally pre-packaged according to the proportion (about 1.5-2% of the total weight of the refractory castable). The steel fiber should be made of refractory stainless steel with high chromium and nickel content.

add water

The amount of water added to the mixer should be determined according to the actual weight of the refractory material. Water should be added according to the reference water addition in the material instruction manual. The amount of water added should be accurately measured in the volume or weight specified in the approved installation procedure. The water used for the mixing construction should be fresh and clean water, and the water should be controlled between 5 °C and 40 °C. The chloride ion content in water does not exceed 50 PPM. The pH is between 6.5 and 7.5. The amount of water added should be carried out according to the amount of water added in the construction instructions. Accurate measurement. Under the conditions of construction, water should be used as little as possible to achieve better performance.

Stir

Stirring is a very important process because it has a decisive influence on the quality of the lining. It is important to use the right mixing equipment, watch the correct mixing time and use the right amount of agitating solution.

The refractory castable should be stirred by a forced mixer. The speed of the mixer is not less than 18 rpm. It is not allowed to use manual stirring. It is recommended to use the forced mixer below.

Stirring control

To achieve a uniform distribution of the refractory material, stir for 30-60 seconds without adding water, and then add 80% more water. The remaining water should be carefully measured to add the best consistency to the consistency. There may be some subtle changes to the amount of water indicated. For heavy materials, the amount of water used for mixing can be allowed to have a maximum ± 0.5% error.

The correct amount of water can be determined by (consistency test).

There are two ways to check:

Handball test method: After adding water, the castable forms a “ball” in the hand. If this “ball”:

Crush separation: indicates that the amount of water added to the castable is insufficient;

Slight flow: The amount of water added to the castable is as required by the design:

Immediate flow: The amount of water added to the castable is too high.

Vibrator test: Place a vibrator in the mixer pan:

After the vibrator is withdrawn, if there is a hole in the refractory castable, it indicates that the amount of water added to the castable is not enough:

If the refractory material flows well, the amount of water added to the castable is just as high as the design requirement. If the water is accumulated in the vibration, the water content of the castable is too high.

IMPORTANT: With a dry blender, the first agitation requires a little more water to wet the mixing equipment beforehand.
