       The effect of binder on the performance of low cement castables: The use effect of low cement castables is not only related to its own properties and matrix, but also has a close relationship with construction quality.

 

       Firstly, temperature is one of the factors affecting the construction quality of low cement castables. Low ambient temperature will prolong the hydration reaction time of cement, hinder the increase of the strength of castables, and will also lead to faster decay of the flow of low cement castables and shorten the construction time. Thereby affecting the construction quality of low cement castables.


       According to our usual construction feedback, the bonding agent and temperature have a great influence on the construction of high alumina low cement castables. When the construction is carried out at 20-30 °C, a part of the accelerator can be added to the low cement castable, which can shorten the construction. When the temperature is higher than 35 °C, an appropriate amount of retarder can be added to prolong the material construction time.

 

       Therefore, when using a low cement castable, the ratio of the binder can be appropriately adjusted according to the construction conditions. Moreover, after many tests, the addition of an appropriate amount of binder adjustment has no effect on the strength of the low cement castable.
