What are the characteristics of refractory castables?

        Refractory castables are currently the most widely produced and shaped refractory materials. It is mainly used to construct various structures such as various furnace linings. Certain premium varieties can also be used in smelting furnaces. For example, aluminate cement refractory castables can be widely used in various heating furnaces and other non-slag, acid-free corrosion-free thermal equipment. In places where the working temperature is high, such as tapping tank, steel drum and blast furnace shaft, iron tap, etc., which are eroded by molten iron, molten steel and slag, it can be combined with low calcium and pure high alumina cement. A refractory castable made of high quality granules and powders with a high alumina and good sintering.

        Phosphate refractory castables can be widely used in heating furnaces and soaking furnaces for heating metals, as well as in coke ovens and in cement kiln where they are in direct contact with materials. It is also effective to repair with high quality phosphate refractory castables in some parts of metallurgical furnaces and other vessels that are in direct contact with molten slag and molten metal. It is more appropriate to use a phosphate refractory castable in areas where the operating temperature is not high and the wear resistance is high.

        If a corundum refractory material is used to make a refractory castable, it generally has a good effect in a reducing atmosphere. In addition, the refractory castables generally have a high normal temperature strength, and can be made into prefabricated parts at the kiln spinning site.
