Formulation and application of acid-resistant refractory castable

The castable refractory material which can resist the corrosion of 800~1200℃ acid medium (nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, etc.) is called refractory acid-resistant castable.It is water glass as a binding agent, with acid or alkali acid refractory as aggregate and powder, plus a small amount of coagulant from the collocation.But this kind of castable is not resistant to alkali, hot phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid and high fat corrosion.This kind of castable has abundant sources of raw materials and low price, so it is widely used in thermal equipment of metallurgy, chemical industry, petroleum, light industry and other sectors.

The main aggregate used for distributing acid-resistant refractory castable is silica, cast stone, wax stone, andesite, diabase and so on.The acid resistance of several common raw materials (% by weight method) is: cast stone 98%, silica more than 97%, clay clinker 92%~97%, wax stone 92~96%, andesite more than 94%.Choose what kind of raw material to decide according to use condition.But must pay attention to when using silica quartz heating polycrystalline transition from time to tome, in the process of change will produce volume change (inflation), so it's best to use silica waste silica raw material is expected to replace parts of the aggregate, the configuration of the castable powder mainly adopts silica powder, cast stone powder, porcelain powder, high siliceous clay clinker powder, etc., including casting powder is adopt more acid powder.

The binder sodium silicate should be used M higher, in order to reduce the amount of Na2O brought into the sodium silicate, improve acid resistance, the general use of modulus of 2.6-3.2, density of 1.38-142,g/cm3 sodium silicate solution.Can be used as a compound of sodium silicate coagulant more, including fluoride compounds (such as fluosilicate, fluoboric acid and fluorine titanium acid alkali metal salt), esters, acids, such as ethyl acetate, metal oxide (such as lead, catalpa, barium oxide), as well as carbon dioxide (CO2), etc., but fluorine sodium silicate (Na2SiF6) is the most widely used, easy to use, easy to control condensation curing time.

The general composition of acid-proof castable is: acid-proof refractory aggregate 60%-70%, powder 30%-40%, plus the density of 1.38-1.42g/cm3 sodium silicate solution 13%-16%, with sodium fluorosilicate as the hardening agent, the addition amount is 10%-12% of the quality of sodium silicate solution.


Acid resistant refractory castable is mainly used for lining of flue and chimney, acid storage tank, pickling tank, pynopyric tower, acid recovery furnace and other containers corroded by acid high temperature gas.
