Common construction methods of castable

In the petrochemical large furnace lining, generally choose the material with light weight, high strength and good insulation performance for heat preservation, which greatly reduces the weight of the furnace lining.All the refractory castable materials are prepared by the factory and transported to the site in bags, which can be used after adding water and stirring.

1. Refractory castable for casting construction should be selected according to local conditions. Different parts of the structure and different casting methods are required.Choosing reasonable construction method is the key to ensure quality, time limit and reduce cost.

(1) preparation before construction

1) it shall be well matched with the test block, and construction can only be carried out when the test block meets the design requirements;

2) check the corrosion of the steel shell, and remove the rust on the steel shell surface touched by the pouring material;

3) check whether the template is firmly supported. The surface of the template should be planed and brushed with a layer of varnish to prevent the template from absorbing water and facilitate the removal of molds.Formwork joints shall be tight and of sufficient strength.

2. Casting of refractory castable

1) manual tamping shall be adopted when pouring refractory castable for heat insulation layer to prevent particle separation and increase bulk density.When the thickness is greater than 75mm, it shall reach the required thickness after the first pouring, otherwise it will be delaminated.The joints should be clean and straight.

2) when casting refractory castable, mechanical tamping should be used to achieve solid inside and flat outside.Manual tamping should be uniform compaction, but not pressure.Because after calendering the cement slurry up back, and make the surface more compact, so that the interior

Water is not easy to evaporate, easy to crack.To prevent water evaporation too fast, the construction should be covered after completion, to keep wet maintenance.

3) when pouring refractory castable at the bottom of the furnace, use wooden trowel to pat it solid, and do not need to press it, or crack will occur.

4) when pouring refractory castable, whether it is refractory layer or thermal insulation brick, thermal insulation brick masonry should take measures when there is contact surface, lining plastic film or other materials, to prevent adverse isolation of water absorption.

5) when there is contact surface between the corner transition refractory castable and the insulation board (brick), a layer of plastic cloth should be laid for isolation to prevent water absorption.Refractory castable with large corner difficulty can increase the quantity of water castable bottom, but should not be too large.Refractory castable with good fluidity should not be used for too long tamping time to prevent the separation of particles and excessive water back up, evaporation of water caused by cracks.

6) the thickness of refractory castable shall be within 50mm, and it shall be finished in one time with the method of daub. During the construction, the castable shall be filled into the steel wire mesh, without any gap, requiring compactness and without increasing bulk density.When daub should spread out pouring material, reapply wooden trowel smooth, rough surface can be.To prevent cracking, the castable surface should not be polished with an iron trowel.
